Alcohol & Drug Abuse Policy

Approved by the Provost by authority of Colorado Medieval Festival(c),
Middle Age Productions and Medieval World, USA(c).

1. Policy

To help ensure the safety and well-being of participants, staff, students, and the general public, Colorado Medieval Festival(c) is committed to maintaining a family festival environment that is free of illegal drugs and of drugs and alcohol that are used illegally. Colorado Medieval Festival(c) also prohibits the unlawful possession, use, distribution, or manufacture of controlled substances on Colorado Medieval Festival(c) sites or during Medieval World, USA(c) sponsored activities. Violation of Colorado Medieval Festival(c)’s policy is cause for disciplinary or other appropriate action.

2. Health Risks and Sanctions

Participants, guests and students should be aware that: It is dangerous to abuse alcohol and other drugs, and many illnesses and deaths have been medically related to the use and abuse of illegal drugs and alcohol, and that Colorado Medieval Festival(c) has declared itself to be a drug-free work and educational environment.

Guests, Students and Participants who are found to be in violation of this stated policy may be subject to arrest and conviction under the applicable criminal laws of local municipalities, the State of Colorado or the United States. Conviction can result in sanctions including probation, fines and imprisonment. Violations of alcohol or drug abuse policy's are grounds for disciplinary action, including expulsion from Colorado Medieval Festival(c) events. Those found in violation of this stated policy are also subject to discipline in accordance with the requirements and procedures of this policy. Discipline may include the following actions, dismissal or exclusion from the current and future Colorado Medieval Festival(c) and Medieval World, USA(c) activities without refund.

3. We encourage everyone to have fun while visiting or participating in our events and always drink responsibly.
