Making the Colorado Medieval Festival
Happen...
Our volunteers are the very backbone of this
organization and are definitely what make it a success. Many volunteers prefer
to work behind the scenes, playing a vital role to keep the organization
running smoothly. Currently there are many volunteers working on the success
of the this new festival.
People are needed to fill roles as Stage
Managers, Parking Attendants, Box Office, and in the Children's center. These
contributions are crucial to the Festival. Still other volunteers fill a
number of roles year round, working on Construction, Grounds, Design and
Development, Landscaping, and Maintenance.
Entertainment positions remain open for the
current cast. Guilds are being developed for to make this annual event
exciting for the guests. Contact our
Volunteer Coordinator by email for
more information. If you are interested in being in the public eye without
developing a character, our vendors are looking for people to work for them
during the Festival. Please let us know if you want to be contacted for one of
these positions. Contact our
Volunteer Coordinator today and
let us know about your interest in making this Festival a success!
Musicians and other stage and lane
performers are needed as well. Come pitch it to our
Entertainment Department. Formal
auditions will be arranged.
Additional Information for Our Volunteers:
Along with participating in a closely knit,
community conscious, educational organization; our volunteers earn the added
benefits of historical instruction, guidance, and workshops on character
development, costuming assistance, period speech and manners, interaction with
patrons, dance lessons, and more at our rehearsals.
One of our primary goals is to build a core
group of performers to take part each year in the activities sponsored by and
for Medieval World, USA and the Colorado Medieval Festival. There are
opportunities to explore various periods of history for school programs and
other special events. Please contact our
Special Events Coordinator for
more information on assisting in any of our events.
Past Events:
2005 - This is a new event starting in 2005
and will be very exciting and educational. We entertained, on a rained out
weekend (heavy rains 2 of the 3 days), over 1600 guests.
2006 - Was great weather and improvements to
the festival. We entertained almost 2000 guests during this event.
2007 - A great new location in a fully
grassed park. A lot more entertainment was offered and a new FREE children's
area. Even a great new evening band program was initiated on Saturday night.
We continue to improve the the event each year to provide more entertainment,
education and just more fun for you and your family. The weather was excellent
the whole weekend. Guests continue to increase.
